The Herman T. Stichman Photograph Collection contains primarily photographs of him while he served as Housing Commissioner of New York State. These photographs are mainly from the late 1940's through the early 1950's. They show Stichman with various political leaders, including Governor Thomas E. Dewey, also with members of veterans groups and service clubs. There are photographs showing him giving speeches, participating in ground breaking ceremonies for housing projects, and investigating poor housing conditions, mainly in New York City.
